Try Nags Head, NC. Check out the Sea Foam Motel or the Colonial Inn Motel. I have stayed at both and liked them. They are ocean front and reasonably priced. They are old, like 50s, but hey thats what the beach is all about. They both have pools and the rooms have A/C. What more do you need at the beach? The Nags Head Pier restaurant is next door to the Colonial Inn. It’s good and priced right. Owen’s is across the street from the Sea Foam, expensive but mmmm good, Sam and Omies is down the street, a down to earth place, priced right – my kind of place. The Dunes Restaurant a couple of blocks away is good and not as expensive as Owens but more than Sam & Omies. :) So you got good choices. Of course there are lots of other reasonable places to stay in the Nags Head area. These are just my preferences. Hope this helps.
